The Native American Exhibit (NAE) is a multimedia presentation that showcases the relationship between the Native American past and its present. We examine their gruesome struggle against exploitation, leading to the great death march of the trail of tears. To their overcoming adversity with production of several fascinating accomplishments in science, aerospace, communication, health care, agriculture, sports, entertainment and art. With their ultimate declared sovereignty, America finally recognizes these mighty people.
THE VISION
NAE
vision is to continue to find ways to inspire and motivate young people to
achieve their dreams. NAE recognizes and understands that racism has culturally
deprived our youth. We believe that once our youth know better they would
ultimately do better. By highlighting achievements in history that are not
normally taught in school is the key to their success. Utilizing
examples of ordinary people making extraordinary contributions to the
world gives young people the inspiration that is needed. NAE
believes young people need role models that they can identify with so
they can see themselves in the big picture and can contribute to it. The vision
is to bring these significant contributors out the shadows and towards
receiving the recognition they truly deserve. NAE is also a major vehicle
in preserving and honoring a segment of history that has been buried or
overlooked.
THE MISSION
Our mission is to develop racial pride, promote racial understanding, and provide a new motivation of learning. To collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret cultural materials which illustrate the achievements and history of Native Americans and Alaska Natives (first inhabitants of North America). NAE is for everyone –all age groups and ethnic backgrounds. The Museum graciously compliments all science and American history curricula, while promoting positive images in those who seek to learn about the discoveries and challenges of these great Native American men and women.
